CE Members Named to 2014 Top 40 Under 40 List

40under40This year, four Capital Entrepreneurs members were named to the InBusiness 40 Under 40 list for 2014. The 40 Under 40 list honors emerging business stars under 40 years of age in the greater Madison area.

Brad Grzesiak, co-founder and CEO of Bendyworks. Grzesiak is also very involved in Madison’s tech scene as an early member of Capital Entrepreneurs and a chair of Madisonium, a group working to raise Madison’s visibility as a tech/Internet hub. Recently, Grzesiak was named to the city of Madison’s Digital Technology Committee.

Max Lynch, founder and CTO of Drifty Co.  Lynch looks to reinvest in young tech entrepreneurs to “build software companies focused on profitability and sustainability.” He aims to have Drifty Co. “impact the world” and “put Madison on the map for Internet companies like Mailchimp and 37signals.”

Daniel Neely, founder and CEO of Networked Insights.  Neely became CEO of Networked Insights at the age of 29 and has since grown the company to over 150 employees. He has also earned a board position with UW Business School’s Weinert Applied Ventures in Entrepreneurship program.

Ben Raboine, CTO of Optimal Media Group. Raboine founded his first company at the age of 21 and is currently an equal partner in six LLC enterprises: Raboine Web Matrix, Optimal Media Group, Custom Offsets, Vistrata Health, Mysteria Games, and SeeMeNow. Raboine hopes to one day become an angel investor to help more fellow Madison and Wisconsin entrepreneurs.

2012 Recap: Optimal Media Group

2012 was a great year for Optimal Media Group and the NightOut sites. We removed underperforming products and reinforced and strengthened our core products while adding an incredibly lucrative loyalty program. We continue to modify and upgrade the functionality of our user interface for an improved visitor experience.

The best improvement this year has been the addition of an onsite designer and two new sales people. Our designer has enabled us to create new marketing material and offer design support to our licensees. With this addition comes the ability to spend more time with our new licensees training them in the site functionality helping them develop their business. We now can help them develop the content on their sites and help with marketing campaigns and sales presentations. This has been very well received and appreciated by our new licensees.

In July, we added Prestige Rewards loyalty program. The program is free to all consumers and allows them to earn cash back directly to their registered credit cards from participating merchants. There are no additional cards to carry or hoops to jump through. Simply register your existing debit or credit card on our secure site and pay as you normally pay. Each time you use your card at a participating merchant, you earn cash back.

We will soon be releasing Optimal Mobile Technology, which will allow our licensees to offer phone apps to their clients. They will be able to sell the app, create the app, and update it as necessary. The client will be able to present push notifications at the most opportune times, post menus and specials, or announce any exciting news or event in their business. This is one of the best ways a business can communicate with their loyal customers.

With additions of team members and with new products, 2013 will be our best, most exciting year since our inception.

2011 Recap: Optimal Media Group

The year of 2011 was a building year for Optimal Media Group as we completed our second year of operations and are maturing as a company. We saw a steady growth in our core product, the city specific NightOut website, of 5 to 10 new cities per month which we project to continue and increase in the coming year. We added many upgrades both in the user interface and in the administrative area which improved functionality, user friendliness, speed, and also simplified many daily administrative operations.

We also added many key product features to compliment our core business. One of the most exciting and innovative additions is our MyNightOut phone app which keys on the specials and events posted on our site. The app geo-tracks the user and displays the specials and events by proximity sorting by the closest listing to where the user is standing. Very cool feature. The app also allows search capabilities so you can search specials and events all over North America and link to your desired merchant with ease either by phone or to their website.

We have added NightOut Storage which allows our licensee to store large amounts of data such as photos or video without sacrificing load speeds all while improving site SEO.

We have upgraded and improved our NightOut Radio, which used to be a third party feature, to allow local independent bands or solo artists to upload their original music easily and to allow their music to be played on NightOut sites all over North America. Never has it been easier for a local artist to receive national and international exposure.

In late October we announced the release of our newest product Once In A Blue Moon. Deals so good they only come around Once In A Blue Moon is a deal site that will focus on providing 50 to 90% discounts on a variety of things specific to our NightOut genre. We will focus on providing unique, quality offers unlike any other deal providers. This is a perfect addition to our current marketing service and we expect tremendous growth and exposure in 2012.

And finally we are closing the year completing the final development of an upcoming product, Cambio. It will be released in early 2012 and will be added to all NightOut sites. Cambio will provide the user The Power to Pick Your Price and will be a fun, interactive way the user receive discounts on an unlimited number of products and services.

With the addition of Once In A Blue Moon, the upcoming release of Cambio and the addition of more support and training staff, 2012 will be a very exciting year for Optimal Media. We had tremendous growth in 2011 both in users and in our services offered and are extremely well positioned for our most dynamic year yet. We are very excited.
