2015 Recap: OpenHomes

openhomes logoIn 2015, OpenHomes has seen +100% year over year growth in revenue and customers We’ve become a top 12% agency in our first market, south central Wisconsin, and have sold homes throughout southern Wisconsin. We sell homes faster and for more money than traditional agents, too – just 11 days on market (vs. market average of about 28), and for 99.2% of listing price (vs. market average of about 97%).

OpenHomes customers save an average of about $6,000 vs using a traditional agent. Our net promoter score is 100 points – meaning every single customer surveyed said s/he would recommend OpenHomes to a friend or colleague. Now that our tech is in great shape and our traction is strong, we’ll be opening up a $500k round to help us expand to new states and drive even more rapid growth.

2014 Recap: OpenHomes

openhomes logoOpenHomes has had a great 2014, starting off the year by closing a successful seed investment round. This year, OpenHomes is active in three MLS regions, covering all of Southern Wisconsin and Door County.

In the fall, we were one of 100 startups globally to be selected to pitch at the PITCH ALPHA competition at Web Summit in Dublin, Ireland, Europe’s largest tech conference. We also were selected to pitch at the investor track at the 2014 Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium. Perhaps most exciting, we hired a new CTO, Josh Treichel; Josh was previously a software engineer at Networked Insights. OpenHomes Raises $180k in Funding

openhomes-logoOpenHomes, a real estate startup aiming to make it easier and more affordable for people to sell and buy homes, has raised over $180,000 in seed round funding.

OpenHomes is a simple, affordable, and convenient way to sell or buy a home, saving homeowners thousands of dollars by charging only a 1% commission. The seed round will provide capital for marketing and software development. Investors include CSA Partners, Angels on the Water, Mark Bakken, gener8tor, and several other angel investors. OpenHomes is a graduate of gener8tor’s Summer 2013 accelerator program.

gener8tor Summer 2013 Launch Day

gener8tor_logo_120308Graduates from Wisconsin’s premier startup accelerator program will pitch their companies to an audience of investors and fellow entrepreneurs tonight (August 29), at gener8tor‘s Launch Day event in Milwaukee.

The 5 high-tech startups in the Summer 2013 class received capital, mentorship, and connections throughout the 12 week gener8tor program. Optyn – Makes marketing simple for small businesses by providing easy, automated tools to acquire and engage their customers.

catalyze.io – Provides health cloud solutions for application developers, enabling rapid application development, enhanced data integration and industry-standard security.

The 12 week program will provide 5 teams capital, mentorship, expertise, and more and will culminate with a Launch Day event on August 29 where each team will pitch their company to a crowd of community members and potential investors.

Docalytics (Minneapolis, MN) – Docalytics builds online tools to help marketers get more from their content marketing activities.

Optyn (Chicago, IL) – Optyn optimizes the marketing relationships between businesses and consumers.
