Kiplinger has rated Madison as the top city for young adults. The rankings looked for cities with a strong job market with growth potential, affordable housing for twentysomethings living on an entry-level salary and a vibrant social scene. Madison edged out Austin, Boston, D.C., and Denver to take the top spot. Kiplinger called Madison “…an educated, tech-savvy city, filled with recent grads who have enough energy to launch a dozen start-ups and still have time to check out that brewpub down the block” and specifically mentioned how the Madison “…entrepreneurial community fosters homegrown start-ups.”
